About Trí

Dương Quang Trí is an award-winning feature photographer, documentary journalist, and artist originally from Saigon, Vietnam. He immigrated to the United States at a young age, where he developed a deep appreciation for the power of visual storytelling. Trí's unique background and perspective have shaped his approach to photography, allowing him to bring a fresh perspective to the stories he tells. With his camera in hand, he is constantly seeking out new and interesting subjects to capture, whether they be people, places, or events. Through his work, Trí hopes to bridge cultural divides and bring people closer together, showcasing the beauty and complexity of the world around us.

He has been published in several prestigious publications, including  Associated Press News,The Colorado Sun,Aurora Sentinel,Gannett- Coloradoan-Fort Collins, Loveland Reporter Herald, The Rocky Mountain Collegian, CTV Channel 11 and College Ave based in Colorado.

In Trí's future work, he hopes to shine a light on the challenges faced by the Asian community, and to inspire others to use photography to raise awareness for the protection of our roots.

"I am learning to understand rather than immediately judge or to be judged. I cannot blindly follow the crowd and accept their approach. I will not allow myself to indulge in the usual manipulating game of role creation. Fortunately for me, my self-knowledge has transcended that and I have come to understand that life is best to be lived and not to be conceptualized. I am happy because I am growing daily and I am honestly not knowing where the limit lies." - Bruce Lee

In addition to his work, Trí is a talented mosaic artist featured at the Museum of Arts in Fort Collins, who creates meaningful and reflective pieces using a range of materials. His art serves as a way to explore and express his creative vision, while also providing a welcome break from the fast-paced world of journalism.

In his free time, Trí enjoys covering art as a beat, delving into the latest trends and exploring the work of emerging artists. His passion for both art and journalism allow him to bring a unique perspective to both fields, constantly challenging himself to push the boundaries of the imagination.
